Family Sessions

I normally allow between an hour and a half, to two hours for a family session. This provides plenty of time for feeding, sleeping, snacking and any nappy changes! For young babies I suggest these take place in the comfort of your home. Once the little ones are mobile, either home or out and about work perfectly.

My pricing is very simple.

  1. Firstly, I charge a session fee of £120 weekdays/ £150 Sat AM (£50 deposit payable on booking) which includes me taking the photographs and editing them to share with you on an online viewing gallery. Please note the session fee does not include any digital or photographic prints or products. My standard session fee covers up to a family of 6, any additional members of the family are charged at £20 per person, capped at £200.
  2. The second stage (following your photography session) is for you to select a package you would like to purchase from my selection below -

Family Events

If you would like a special family event or gathering photographing, these are priced in line with my family sessions. In addition to my standard session fee ( £120 weekday/£150 Saturday) , I charge an extra £20/per person for the event (additional person charge capped at £200). As with my family sessions, following the event, you then have the option to choose from one of my three digital packages above.

Following your session, there's no denying, nothing beats looking at those cute little faces on the wall as we walk through our homes. With that in mind, if you would like any additional products making up, I also offer a selection of stand alone printing and framing options. This enables you to select whether you would like some one off images for your wall, or maybe a collage frame combining many. There are various layouts and styles so please do just shout if you would like more information.

FAQ

What should we wear?

Whatever you like. Nothing makes people feel more uncomfortable than wearing clothes that they're not used to. This is a snapshot of your life, so wear something you love wearing, let the kids wear their favourite clothes or dress up, those will be the memories that you will love to look back on.

I'm worried my little one won't behave on the day

Please don't worry. I have never had a shoot where the little one/ones haven't been as good as gold. I have plenty of experience photographing children and babies, so please don't worry about anything they might throw our way. It won't be anything my own two haven't done at one time or another! I engage with them from the start, and they always love to show me around and show off their favourite toys, I always leave with some new little buddies.

Do I need to tidy my house before you come?

Let's be honest, who has time to tidy when they have a baby or even older children. No sooner have I tidied, than the kids get everything out again... Your home is your home, and whilst I may move a few bits out of shot as we move around, please don't stress yourself out about it beforehand.

What happens if we need to reschedule?

Where possible I will always aim to accommodate a rescheduled session.
You may reschedule the shoot if necessary, provided you give at least 48 hours’ notice so that your session time can be made available to other clients (If under 48hrs is provided unfortunately the deposit or voucher will be forfeited as the session can not be re-sold at this point).
I do ask that you kindly limit rescheduling to one time only.

You may cancel your booking at any time by giving written notice to the photographer, but in doing so shall invariably forfeit the session fee or voucher and the cost of any travel tickets already purchased.

Do you only do sessions at our home?

No, I love to do sessions in the family homes as they are always so relaxed. The little ones are super comfortable in their own surroundings. It also gives you the chance to include all those lovely little things that are reflective of that time, favourite toys, blankets, outfits etc, it's all on hand. In saying that, it's also lovely to get out in the fresh air so the kids can have an explore so I also love to do outdoor sessions to if you have a favourite place to head to. (I do suggest doing at home sessions though until the little ones are fully mobile)

Can we do some of the session at home and some outside?

Absolutely! I've often done sessions where we've split between a favourite park, or even just headed into the garden for a little while. I am super relaxed and happy to go wherever will best tell your story.

What happens if I need to feed during the session?

My aim is to make everything as relaxed as possible for you. Having two children myself I totally understand the need for feeding and snack breaks, (with mine every two minutes on average!) drink breaks, nappy breaks, wiping milk burp from shoulder breaks, and often the most important....caffeine for parents breaks! All of these activities are part of your family life and should be captured as much as anything else. So please just relax and don't worry about anything that crops up.

When is the best time to do a newborn shoot?

I normally suggest in the first two weeks for a newborn shoot.

What to expect..

Before the shoot

Once we have a date confirmed, we can discuss location for your shoot. We can head out and about, do an in home session, or if you have a favourite green space near your home, we can do both! I will also give you some advice on anything you may need to prepare before your session.

On the day

Everyone tends to be on best form after a good night's sleep, so I often find first thing in the morning is the best time to shoot. Also depending on location, it tends to be quieter at this time if we're out at the park, or going for a wander, which helps everyone feel a bit more relaxed. Of course I can be flexible though, so please let me know if anything works better for your family, and I will be happy to accommodate.

Your photos

After we part ways, I will take away with me your treasure trove of pictures. In the following two weeks I will carefully edit the photos and as soon as they are complete, I will send through to you a link for you to view. My packages are outlined on my pricing page.
